Portion sizes – part two

Further to my post about Portion sizes, I started to wonder if there was such a thing as a Portion Size Diet, after all there is every other type of diet out there.

A quick Google search led me to the Beach Body website and their ’21 Day Fix’ diet:

Sounded interesting but at three monthly instalments of £19.95 (plus £6.95 P&P) it seemed a bit steep to me.  Luckily, I was able to find the Portion Pots on their own (without the workouts or the online support) for just £10.95 on Amazon with some pretty strong reviews.

I opened the pots this morning and was shocked at how much smaller they were in reality than in the photos!

The box contained seven pots and an instruction leaflet which helped me identify how many portions of each group I should eat a day based on my weight and activity levels:

  • Veggies – 6 portions
  • Fruits – 4 portions
  • Protein – 6 portions
  • Carbs – 4 portions
  • Healthy fats – 1 portion
  • Dressings – 1 portion
  • Oils/nut butters – 6 teaspoons

Whilst I am going to stick to Weight Watchers as planned this month, and then move on to one of the other diets I’ve identified in my ‘Twelve months, twelve diets‘ challenge I am going to use the pots as another aid to help me control my portion intake.  Although I did have a bit of an issue with my crumpet this morning …..
