Final weigh in – 5:2 diet

Time flies by and I am sad to report that today was my final weigh in on the 5:2 diet.  Sad because this diet has been successful for me, I have lost another 1.5lbs this week which brings my total loss in 4 weeks to 5lbs and makes this my most successful diet (along with Self-Help books where I also lost 5lbs in 4 weeks).

I haven’t written much about the 5:2 diet because the principles really are very simple and for the majority of the time you do forget that you are even on a diet.  However, now that my adventure is over I feel that it is worth ‘bigging’ up the results and reemphasising how easy and liberating the diet is.  Once you have got through your first fast it just gets easier and easier and the weight comes off despite the fact that the rest of the time you can pretty much eat (and drink) what you like.

As well as the good results on the scales, I have also lost a couple of inches, my fat percentage has come down by 3% and that stubborn visceral fat score (on my Tanita scales) has also dropped by 1 (something that other diets haven’t achieved).  Many advocates of fasting claim that it has health benefits beyond just weight loss and these results help confirm this to me.

All in all I am a happy 5:2’er’!
