12 diets, 12 months – The Mediterranean diet

I can’t believe that it is already month five in my Twelve months twelve different diets! challenge.  My overall loss of nine pounds in these five months is hardly earth shattering, however I have had good results with the last two diets I’ve tried and so I’m hoping that 2018 is going to be my year!

Whilst I really enjoyed my foray into fasting via the 5:2 diet (see Final weigh in – 5:2 diet) I would be lying if I said that healthy eating was foremost in my mind when I was following this plan.  I did find myself eating quite a few sweet ‘treats’ on my non-fast days and perhaps a few more high fat or convenience foods for my evening meals than I’m used to.  So with this in mind, the next diet I’m going to follow is the Mediterranean Diet (veganised), which is said to be one of the healthiest diets in the world and will hopefully get me back in the kitchen and cooking from scratch.

    I’d be happy to lose 9lb in 5 months! I suspect that what you are doing keeps it fresh and interesting so you always stick to the diet!
