My first group weigh-in

After I finally joined a slimming club… a week or so ago I had my first weigh in on Friday and I am pleased to say that I lost 5.5lbs – yes 5.5lbs!  This is the most weight I’ve lost in just one week in many a year and I am naturally very chuffed.

So what did I do differently to achieve this great result?  Well I upped my exercise for one, I swam three times, went to an aqua aerobics class (which was highly amusing!) and I ran.  However, I’ve been exercising regularly for a while now and so I think the biggest factor was that the thought of the weigh-in has helped me to stick to the rules of the plan.  When I am just ‘going it alone’ I can always ‘start again tomorrow’ but when you have a firm deadline this isn’t possible.

I must admit that I am living in fear that this week was a fluke and that I can’t possibly lose again on Friday, but I’ll stick to the rules and pray that this wasn’t a one off.

  2. Congrats! That’s a great result! The first weigh in is always a bit higher than usual, but if you stick to it you will keep losing weight, it might just be 1-2 pounds a week instead of 5. However, it adds up quickly and before you know if you lost a stone!
    You should be very proud, that’s an amazing result!

    1. Aw thank you. I would be more than happy with 1-2 lbs a week as this is more than I’ve managed to achieve recently!
